Yes, I am still here monitoring this blog. I have been getting all your emails and surprised that people are checking on here for updated messages or entries. I put this site up in order to help protect Tom's site in case it was censored or removed. If you have any topics you want discussed or commented on, feel free to post or email me and I'll set up an entry. In the meantime, this blog is not going to have any Kirkland sweatshop stories or agency pay rape scandals unless people want to write them. Please feel free to link to this site or give me links to your own blogs and I'll add them to the site to help connect all the bloggers.

Negotiate with your agency?

Well, in the beginning nobody wants to present their balls to an employer and ask for more than what is being offered. The truth is though, an agency will negotiate and at times allow a person to make a little more than the standard rate if they can make the argument and display some good bargaining skills.

Word to the wise, when you get an offer from an agency, do not feel worried that if you ask for more money, you’ll ruin your chances to get hired. In this business, look out for number one and if you are dedicated and have proven yourself in the past, they will reluctantly agree to your terms, trust me!

What’s Your Goal?

Well, the founding of this blog was in support of another’s in the hopes of avoiding a complete loss of opinion and gathering of temporary attorneys. I do believe there is a major flaw in the temp agency organization and that they may all be working together to keep competition down and maintain the monopoly on document review projects for legal professionals. There is no point fighting a permanently established business group. Most attorneys see this area of work as a shifting point into another type of practice. The rest are content with this type of work because of its flexibility and unlimited opportunities.

It’s important to recognize that temporary attorneys come from all walks of life and that what we need to do is help use our experiences to properly warn new comers of the risks involved with document review and help prevent veteran reviewers from falling into the trap of a bad agency or a miserable and abusive assignment.

Word to the wise, if you want to play, learn to be smarter than me. I have over 10 years of computer security experience and know how to run ip traces. Unless you want me to send out a dos attack to your computer (or contact the network administrators at the law firm Skadden, Arps where I traced you to be working at right now) then I suggest running along back to Tom the Temp’s blog and leaving your funny coments there.
